Midweek Lecture: Sir Geoffrey Robertson

In honour of the recent resignation of Pope Benedict XVI , here is Sir Geoffrey Robertson the renowned QC and human rights lawyer. Robertson wrote the book, The Case of The Pope, Vatican Accountability for Human Rights Abuses.

“Could this amount to a crime against humanity… Might the Pope, arguably, be accountable under international law standards for a crime against humanity?” – SirGeoffrey Robertson

As an aside, the Pope Odds are up at PaddyPower. It is interesting to note that the tightest odds are  for the Ghanaian Cardinal Peter Turkson quoted at 7/2. Having an African Pope would certainly be an unexpected alternate future, but definitely not as entertaining as Richard Dawkins taking papacy, the famous biologist and atheist, the Dawk is quoted inside Bono (1000/1) at 666/1!
